It's Almost Christmas!

As we enter this special time of the year, we wish you and your families the best in this blessed season. Flu season is upon us and out of caution for the kids we will not be able to serve a buffet dinner to the families. Even with the flu, families with kids dealing with cancer will still be spending their holidays in the hospital. As in years past, we are not going to allow the weather or sickness to affect us putting smiles on the families of the kids fighting the good fight. We are determined to make it as merry as we can for all the families in the oncology unit at Dell Children’s Hospital. We are of course working with the staff at Dell Children’s to ensure everyone is safe.

We know families will be more stressed and stretched this year because of Flu and respiratory illness. Our plan, with the help of our partners at Hoover’s Cooking, is to provide an individual boxed turkey dinner with all the fixings and a piece of pie for all family members and some of the special staff at Dell's Children's. Once again, we will be giving each patient and each of their siblings a $100 Amazon Gift Cards. This will allow them to order something special that they want for Christmas. Mary and I understand firsthand how special this is for a child, their siblings, and for the parents.

We know this has been a tough year or two on everyone. We are asking for your help in making Christmas a little brighter for some folks who might not have imagined that they would ever be in this place at this time. As in years past, we don’t know how many there will be this year. If you can help sponsor a child, family, or help provide a few meals we would really appreciate it. We would ask for your prayers for folks in hospital for better health and those amazing nurses and staff folks who take care of everyone.
